Running late on a regular basis for rehearsals, worship services, and ministry events hinders our ability to focus and prepare. Arriving early to a location gives us time to troubleshoot and make adjustments or last minute changes. It is a distraction for the ministry if furniture must be moved right before a dance, if the music is not loud enough, or if the aisles need to be used and the ushers are not aware of it.
When we "come before His presence," we can pray, meet with the sound technician, talk to the appropriate people, and get a feel for the spiritual atmosphere. The phrase "Early will I seek Thee" is mentioned several times in the scriptures. When we are prepared in movement ministry, then we minimize any opportunity for mishaps.
If this means that we have to prepare our garments, CDs, location directions, and list of important contacts several days in advance, then we must do what we have to to bring full honor to God. Dance ministry reaches beyond what we do when we have our moment on the platform. Lord, prepare me to be a sanctuary...
1 Chronicles 12:32
"...of the sons of Issachar who had understanding of the times, to know what Israel ought to do, their chiefs were two hundred; and all their brethren were at their command..."
